Access Design (Part M) Guide

Part M of the Building Regulations move away from the narrow aim of making buildings accessible to, and usable by, disabled people and moving towards an aim to make buildings accessible to, and usable by, everyone including older people, parents with young children as well as people with disabilities.

The Access Design Guide seeks to present the requirements of the Building Regulations 2000 and the Building Regulations (Amendment) 2003, Approved Document M - Access to and Use of Buildings (2004 edition) in terms of good building design.

The guidance below gives a shortened version of Part M.
