Horsham and District Access Forum

The Forum brings together local people who work towards improving access to places for everyone, whether they are disabled, able-bodied, parents with children in pushchairs or the elderly. The Forum is open to everyone, and is regularly attended by representatives of various disabled groups and a number of services from West Sussex County Council. If you would like to attend meetings of the Forum, please contact the Equalities Officer as outlined below.

The Forum has been set up jointly by Horsham District Council and Horsham Area Council for Voluntary Service (HACVS)

The Forum meets at least 5 times a year to:

  • discuss access issues,
  • undertake projects,
  • provide feedback and share experiences,
  • promote disability equality and social inclusion,
  • receive presentations on topical issues,
  • improve understanding and educate.

The Forum is consulted by Horsham District Council and others on all matters relating to disabled access and social inclusion.

The Forum also arranges visits to new developments where appropriate to assess disabled access and provide feedback to the Council, the developers and other relevant parties.
