How to make a complaint about the conduct of a District or Parish Councillor

Anyone wanting to complain about the conduct of a District or Parish Councillor is asked to submit their complaint in writing using the complaint form below to:

'Guidance for Potential Complainants' is given in the document below.

Complaints are then assessed by the Horsham District Council's Local Assessment Sub Committee. The Local Assessment Sub Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a member and cannot deal with complaints which are not covered by the Codes of Members' Conduct.

Horsham District Council's Code of Conduct can be viewed online (Part 5A of the Constitution) or inspected at the Council Offices.

Individual Parish Council Codes of Members' Conduct are available from the Clerk of each Parish Council.

Details of cases referred for local determination by the Council's Standards Committee can be viewed for each year.
