Growing recycling to protect our future

The Acorn Scheme has been designed to increase the recycling opportunities available to residents in the Horsham District.

Since its introduction in May 2003, Horsham District's recycling rate has risen from 13% to over 30% of all household waste recycled.

This is one of the highest in the UK; a fact we should all be proud of.  To help maintain our excellent recycling record please follow the table below, which shows what materials are currently collected for recycling.

At the bottom of this page you will find a Plastics Information Sheet, which explains the types of plastics that should be put out for collection. For correct collection week please refer to your recycling calendar

Community recycling points are located across the District with banks for recycling:
Glass jars and bottles, newspapers with magazines, plastic bottles, food and drinks cans, textiles, shoes and books.
