EXEMPTIONS FROM BUILDING REGULATIONS
Certain minor works and small buildings are exempt from the requirements of the Building Regulations. The full list is contained in Schedule 2 to the Building Regulations 2000. The information in this section is a guide to the more general types of buildings relating to a domestic environment. For more detailed guidance you should refer to Schedule 2 to the regulations or contact the Building Control team.
Even though your proposals may be exempt from the Building Regulations you may still require Planning Permission. This has to be applied for seperately and advice should be obtained from the Development Control section.
