ACCESS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

Attitudes towards disabled people have progressed over the last few years and disabled people’s rights are gaining recognition. However, some prejudices still exist. A wide range of barriers still prevent disabled people from feeling properly included in society.

Horsham District Council is committed to making sure that the services it provides are equal for all residents and that disabled people are treated no less favourably than others in the provision of services, employment, or housing.

A number of projects, such as the Disability Equality Scheme, have been developed by the Council to promote equal access for all.
