Ofsted Report of West Sussex LEA

The report is outstanding and reflects great credit on everyone associated with the Education Service in the County. We are very pleased that the inspectors have confirmed the high quality of the service, the achievements of schools, the partnership and relationships which exist, and the value schools attach to the leadership, support and services provided by the LEA.

This report follows closely upon a similar excellent report on our youth service, which also forms part of the West Sussex Education Service. We can therefore all take great pride in this double achievement.

There are, of course, areas which require further development and we need to keep building on the quality of our service. The report provides a very helpful agenda for this which we intend to pursue with vigour and which will form part of our Action Plan.

Let the report speak for itself! Pages 3 and 4 of this brochure consist entirely of quotations from the report. The last section, ‘Areas for Development’, is the LEA’s comment on issues which need further attention and some of the action we are taking to address these.
