How long do I have to make an appeal to the Planning Inspector?

A: In general, you must appeal within 12 weeks of the date of the decision notice for a householder application and within 26 weeks for other types of planning applications. The time limit for making your appeal depends on the type of appeal you are making.

I expected my neighbour’s application to be refused as I objected to his proposals but planning permission has been granted, can I appeal?

A: Only the applicant or his agent on his behalf has the right of appeal against the Local Planning Authority’s refusal to grant permission. The right of appeal does not extend to 3rd parties.
