Building Control
Sussex Building Control is the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) service for Crawley Borough Council and Horsham District Council. Our building control surveyors, based in Horsham and Steyning, work with you, your builder/architect to ensure that building work is carried out safely and correctly so that your home is safe, comfortable and energy efficient for your family to live in.

Most typical home improvement projects, such as extensions, loft, garage or cellar conversions, require building regulations approval and are covered in the guide. Some projects such as sheds, detached garages and conservatories may not require approval so please take a look at the exempt buildings section on our website to check whether your project is exempt.
