Your Own Home
Demand for affordable housing is high in the District, and by far outstrips supply. So if you are having difficulty managing or coping in your own home, there are a number of ways that we can assist you.
We offer a range of solutions through our Community Link service to allow you to continue living independently 24 hours a day. Our assistive technology offers you peace of mind, independence, security and reduced feelings of isolation.
We have links with a range of organisations that can offer you Support. Whether you are young, old, vulnerable or in debt, contact our community partners to find out how they can assist you.
If you own you home, we are able to offer Private Sector Grants to vulnerable and poorer homeowners. We can assist with repairs and improvements, energy efficiency, moving, bringing empty properties back to use and disabled facilities.
If you are homeless, or think you may soon become homeless, contact us to discuss your situation and see whether you are eligible for assistance. We may be able to prevent you losing your home. Even if there is no support service immediately available for you, it is important that we know about your needs so that we can plan for the future.
