Planning Your Own Public Event?
If you wish to organise your own public outdoor event please visit our dedicated Planning Your Own Outdoor Event. Here you will be able to download full guidelines on all you need to consider when planning a public event, from licensing and insurance issues to risk assessments and road closures.
Planning a Street Party
If you are planning a smaller event such as a private street party for residents and neighbours only - perhaps to celebrate the Royal Jubilee or the Olympics in 2012 - a simple step by step guide has been produced including a simple form to apply for a road closure. Please visit the Planning Your Own Event page for details. For a small event applying for a road closure may be all you need to do. However if you plan on charging or raising money at your event, having a pay bar or providing entertainment to the wider public, you will need a Temporary Events Notice which is a type of temporary license. The Planning Your Own Event page will provide you with details.
Promoting Your Event
Once you have organised the event don't forget to publicise it so that people know what, when and where it is happening. You can add the details of your event onto our online calendar very easily - just click on the link below.
You may also add your own event.
