Countryside Events

Lowland Heath

There is a full programme of events at our three main countryside sites throughout the year; Southwater Country Park, Warnham Nature Reserve, and Leechpool and Owlbeech Woods. Look out for:

  • Pond dipping sessions
  • bat walks
  • fungi forays
  • tree identification
  • recognising bird song
  • moth trapping and mammal surveying
  • guided walks
  • children's holiday activity programmes, and much more.

Wildlife Explorers
This is an exciting programme of activities based at Warnham Nature Reserve for children aged 7 - 12 years. Activities take place throughout the year except August. Sessions are normally held from 10am - 12noon unless otherwise stated, and may include field trips to other sites. Children are given the opportunity to learn about wildlife through environmental games, walks, talks, crafts and fieldwork. Remember to please book at least a week before the session on (01403) 215263.

Leisure Access Card - All events at the three main countryside sites are available at a 50% discount with a free Leisure Access Card from Horsham District Council. Available to Horsham District Residents on a low income.
