Stroll through Horsham during the latter half of the October Half Term and enjoy some fantastic entertainment as part of Horsham's Town Centre Festival, including a traditional turn-of-the-century fun fair, live music, comedy street theatre, and some spookily entertaining Halloween activities for all ages.

Bringing the town centre to life with a colourful carnival atmosphere, the Old Mill Steam Fair provides the heart of the Festival with low cost, traditional fairground rides including the beautifully decorated old-time Carousel, giant Ferris Wheel, the popular Chair-o-Planes, Haunted Castle, and lots of stalls and rides for smaller children.

Saturday’s Halloween Party is the highlight of the Festival when tall dark witches, juggling vampires, face painting and Halloween fun and games vied for public attention with live music, a children’s fancy dress competition and a Horsham Shops Trick or Treat Trail. On top of all this there are usually treats to be won including special goodies from Horsham’s Local Produce Market, cash prizes from the Trick or Treat Trail and a free birthday party or a month’s family membership from DC Leisure.

The Rotary Club of Horsham is on hand throughout the Festival and, thanks to the generosity of Horsham traders, raised over £500 for charity in 2011 through the much enjoyed Trick or Treat Trail involving 26 shops around Horsham town centre.

For all the little ones there is the opportunity to show off their Halloween costumes in a Fancy Dress Competition .

The Winners in 2011 were:
Age 3-5 years: Winner: Zoe Fuller; Runner Up: Jamie Harmer, 3rd: Isobel Pawsey

Age 6-8 years: Winner: Ella Beales, Runner Up: Nicholas Danby, 3rd: Lucy Algar

Age 9-11 years: Winner Athena Kolyos, Runner Up: Yasmin Davey; 3rd: Craig Smith.
Thanks are extended to the Non Stop Party Shop and Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe for offering some great prizes to the winners and all who took part.

Live music is a highlight of the Saturday Halloween Party with local performers offering some great songs and dance routines, showcasing talents which will surely be seen again in the future. In the afternoon the energy is ramped up further wth high octane performances from pop and punk to rock and themed Halloween madness!
