Between April and May every year Horsham District Council and participating leisure centres across the District work together to create a 'Strive for 5 Week' of special activities and low cost offers which aims to let people know about the great range and choice of activities for the whole family that is on offer at leisure centres across the Horsham District.

What Was On Offer During 2010 (24th April - 3rd May)
Trampolining, Aqua Disco, Teen Yoga, Boxercise, Badminton and Urban Rebounding were just some of the low cost or free activities on offer during a special ‘Strive for 5 Week' at leisure centres across the District. During this special promotional period you were able to take advantage of free open days, special offers and discounted activities.

Why Strive for 5?
The name ‘Strive for 5’ is drawn from the "5 a day" slogan encouraging us to eat five fruit and vegetables a day and exercise for 30 minutes five times a week. But this doesn’t need to be a chore! Take part in Strive for 5 Week and see for yourself how ‘exercise’ can range from walking in the lovely Sussex countryside to something new, invigorating, and fun.

Why Me?
Many people think of a leisure centre as a place to just have a ‘work out’ or go for a swim. But there are so many other activities for you to try. Why not see for yourself what’s on offer at your local leisure centre: It may be fitness classes or learning to dance, having fun on a trampoline or trying a new sport, something for the children at after-school clubs or meeting friends at senior activity sessions. Never mind ‘going for the burn’, go for the Feel Good factor!”

Plan it - Once you have found something that suits you, Book It! Why not go with your family or a friend to try things out together?
