Professional entertainment at a venue near you!
Would you like to see top quality drama on your village green or recreation ground? How about a concert or film at your village hall? What about comedy or cabaret at the school? With your help we can put them on.
We want to enhance arts and entertainment opportunities throughout the district through an extension of our rural touring programme. We want to put together a selection of performers and products that would be suitable for village venues. We need your help to work with the Council's Arts Development Officer as part of this work.
How you can help?
We need people who are willing to select the entertainment to be offered and to help organise and promote the events.
It does not matter if you are only interested in one art form. A wide range of opportunities is targeted at many venues. If one venue specialises in dance, another in opera and a third in rock music each will benefit from the others' publicity in the Council's various brochures and on this website. However, where groups are interested in variety of performances they will have more to choose from.
In order to encourage local groups, the scheme will offer guarantees against loss for a limited number of initial performances until the potential of the scheme at various venues can be assessed.
