COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Community Events Service supports community groups in the Horsham District through the provision of subsidised entertainment or free play equipment.
This service is available from May to September to any non-profit making group running a public event in the Horsham District. All entertainment options are subject to availability.
Entertainment Options
Inflatable Castles
There are three options available to suit different age groups, from the under 5's, to up to 12 years. We will deliver, inflate and collect the inflatable at the end of the day. All you need to provide are gym mats for the entrance of the inflatable (we recommend at least three mats) and volunteers to supervise the activity, in accordance with identified safety standards.
COST: £55 including VAT
Children's Entertainers
We have a choice of children's entertainers available for up to two hours per event, including a break. They include clowns, magicians, Jugglers and Punch and Judy.
COST: £55 including VAT
Play and Sports Equipment
Includes play tunnels for the under 5's, a giant 'Mega-4-in-Line' game, croquet, skittles, giant snakes and ladders and a football target wall for fundraising activities etc. COST: Free to hire. Hirer to collect and return to Horsham District Council.
Terms and Conditions
We do our best to support as many community groups as possible, however, in order to do so, each group is limited to one entertainment option per event, per year.
If you are requesting an inflatable, please provide us with a copy of your public liability insurance certificate. This must be for a minimum of £5 million.
All event organisers will also need to sign a health and safety form in advance of the event, to confirm that they have read and understood the safety instructions provided.
It is a requirement of our service that you include our Leisure Services logo in your event programme together with the following words: ‘This event is supported by Horsham District Council’s Community Events Service.’ (We will need to see proof of this before supporting your event).
You may be liable for repair / replacement costs should you cause damage to any Community Events equipment.
Refunds will not be issued or entertainment transferred if an event is cancelled or postponed less than 4 weeks before an event.
How to Apply
Please return the attached form by 1 March. Any requests after this date will be considered according to availability. As demand is high, we recommend booking as early as possible. Please make cheques payable to Horsham District Council and send to the address on the booking form once you receive your letter of confirmation.
