Horsham District Council recommended to freeze Council Tax
25 Jan 2012
Horsham District Council’s Cabinet will consider a proposal that Council Tax remain unchanged for residents in the year starting April 2012.
If the freeze in Council Tax is agreed at the Cabinet meeting on 26 January 2012 then it will be recommended to a meeting of the full Council on 22 February 2012.
Horsham District Council’s Chief Executive and Head of Financial & Legal Services will report to Cabinet the proposed Budget for 2012/13 at the meeting on 26 January 2012.
If the freeze in Council Tax is agreed at the full Council meeting in February, the annual Band D Council Tax charge will be £135.54 and the special charge £23.71.
Councillor Ray Dawe, Horsham District Council’s Acting Leader and Cabinet Member for Efficiency and Resources, said:
“We made an election pledge when we were re-elected last May not to increase Council Tax for both the current year and for the next financial year and I am pleased that, despite the difficult economic situation, we are able to do this.
“I am sure it will be of great help all our residents throughout the Horsham District.”
