New play area put on hold

18 Aug 2010

PLANS for a new play area at Pixies Hollow in Horsham have been put on hold.

Horsham District Council was allocated a Government grant of £45,000 to fund the play area at the end of Woodstock Close, to be constructed this autumn, but the money could now be cut.

The money was to come from the Playbuilder scheme, which was launched two years ago with the aim of using Government grants to pay for 3,500 new play areas nationwide. The scheme has now been placed under review.

Plans for the Pixies Hollow play area included a large basket swing, an aerial rotator, exciting climbing features and a zip wire.

The Department for Education will announce the scheme’s future soon.
