The Council published the 'Alternative Development Sites and Boundary Changes' document in January 2006. This document was subject to a six week statutory consultation period which closed on 14 March 2006.
The 'Alternative Development Sites and Boundary Changes' document is linked to the Core Strategy, Site Specific Allocations of Land and Proposals Map Submission documents. The sites or boundary changes identified in this document were those put forward to the independent Inspector for consideration for development, or boundary changes suggested that were not included in the Submission Development Plan Documents.
These were not sites or boundary changes put forward by the Council, but those put forward by respondents to the Submission documents. The Council itself does not decide whether changes should be made to the submission documents; that will be for the independent Inspector to make those decisions. Following the consultation period there was a public examination in June 2007, before expected adoption of the submission documents in January 2008.
Two amendments to the Alternative Sites and Boundary Changes were published on 25 May 2007, which related to the built-up area boundaries of Amberley and Washington. Comments were invited on these particular proposed boundary changes only (ADS114 and ADS115) between 25 May - 6 July 2007.
A further amendment to the Alternative Sites and Boundary Changes was published on 20 July 2007, which related to the built-up area boundary of Christs Hospital. This boundary change was submitted to the Council during the representation period on the Alternative Development Sites and Boundary Changes document last year, but was inadvertently omitted from the list in the document. Comments were invited on this particular proposed boundary change only (ADS116) between 20 July – 31 August 2007.
