STORRINGTON - OLD MILL DRIVE DIAMOND: PLANNING BRIEF
The Council adopted the Old Mill Drive Diamond Planning Brief Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on 13 June 2008.
Development plan policy provides strategic guidance for prospective development in the District and gives a long term vision for the future of the built environment. However, certain locally important areas are in need of more detailed site-specific guidance to help enhance the area and coordinate future development for more effective and functional places. This can be achieved through the use of planning briefs, which are published as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) to the Core Strategy under the new Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
The Old Mill Drive Diamond Planning Brief SPD sets out the Council’s guidelines and vision for any future development of the Old Mill Drive Diamond site in Storrington. The document enables a more comprehensive joined-up development of the site that promotes improved links with the rest of the town centre and the wider community by interpreting general development plan policies on a more site-specific basis to help guide prospective developers.
A Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SA/SEA document) has been carried out alongside this SPD and the SA/SEA Final Report is available below.
A summary of the consultation process and the comments received on the Draft Planning Brief and how they were addressed in the final document can be viewed in the Consultation Statement.
