Family Fun Day in Horsham Park!
29th June 2004
Horsham District residents are gearing up for a feast of exciting and diverse entertainment, as the Family Fun Day fast approaches Horsham Park. This year’s fun-packed, FREE day organised by Horsham District Council’s Leisure Services takes place in the park on Sunday 4 July, between 1.30pm and 5pm.
People are already looking forward to a whole host of new entertainment guaranteed to amaze and thrill, including the Space Ball - a NASA training simulator which is certainly not for the faint hearted and Laser Quasar - an inflatable, 9-chamber space ship, with laser beams and laser guns - as well the renowned entertainer and mime artist 'The Great Ricardo'. You might also want to look out for Wildwood Playgrounds, who will be performing live chainsaw sculpting!
Our special attraction for this year will be the enthralling 'Heavens Above', who will perform their death-defying duo aerial act with trapeze, silks and corde lisse. This will be a unique and exciting aerobatic display, the likes of which have never before been performed in Horsham Park!
Around the park, there will be a chance to experience some of the more regular features of the day, including the ever-popular sports sessions, arts activities, bouncy castles and Peach Roadshow. You can also look forward to some familiar favourites as well as new community groups, including Huxley’s Birds of Prey Experience, Solo School of Singing, Southdowns Orienteers, Horsham & District Radio Control Model Club and Circus Wurx amongst many others.
Take time to enjoy the fun of the fair, packed with attractions such as the big wheel, mega slippery slide, swing boats, land train, traditional game stalls and more.
Throughout the afternoon, you can relax and enjoy a medley of live music from bands on the park podium including 'Mood Swings' who will treat us to jazz and swing classics from the 1940s to music from the present day. The 'Ipswich Hospital Band' promise refreshing and varied musical entertainment, from classical to modern music and from musicals to marches. Listen out for the lively mix of traditional, classic jazz from the roving 'Jazz Pirates'.
Whatever your interest, there’ll be something for everyone!
