Walking is so good for you
16th September 2004
TWO special walks are taking place this Sunday (19 September).
Horsham District Council’s Health Walks Scheme is joining forces with ITV to provide two walks to choose from locally.
The ITV ‘Britain on the Move’ campaign is sending out an invitation across the nation asking people to step out and get back on the road to health and join the millions of others who enjoy being out and about.
The first local walk is with the 2nd Horsham Scout Group at the Scout Hut in Swindon Road in Horsham on Sunday at 11:15am. This is a family friendly walk, with a quiz for the younger walkers, which takes in woodland and part of the Riverside Walk. It should take about an hour and is suitable for pushchairs.
For those who would like something a little more taxing, there’s a 4.2 mile walk in the heart of the South Downs, starting from Kithurst Hill car park, located off the B2139 Storrington to Amberley Road. The walk starts at 10am on Sunday.
Walkers are advised to bring appropriate gear and suitable footwear.
