A TEAM of recycling advisors will be visiting communal properties in the Horsham District over the next seven weeks to discuss all aspects of household recycling.
Students from Brighton University are working on behalf of four local authorities (Crawley, Horsham, Mid-Sussex and Worthing) to carry out this doorstep recycling advice service.
With funding from the national Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP), this partnership initiative has been set up to boost participation rates in recycling. The campaign has been designed to highlight the ease and convenience of recycling by explaining the service offered by each authority to their residents.
The team of advisors will be visiting approximately 3,500 properties in the Horsham District. They will also be delivering a newsletter packed with information on why and how to recycle, as well as the locations of Community Recycling Points and the items that can be recycled at these sites.
It is hoped that by speaking to people on their doorstep questions can be answered and potential obstacles to recycling overcome.
Should residents wish to know further details surrounding this campaign, they can call Horsham District Council’s Waste Management team on (01403) 215591.
