Planning applications now easier to find online

A REDESIGN of Horsham District Council’s online Planning service has put more information at the fingertips of local residents.

The ability to view and track planning applications on the Council’s website has proved invaluable to the residents and businesses of the District in recent years, in which time thousands of people have taken advantage of this free service.

From the tracking of individual applications to progress reports on substantial areas of development, the online Planning resource holds a wealth of relevant information.

Cllr Roger Paterson, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and IT at Horsham District Council, explained:

“The redesign of the online service has not only made access to this information easier, but has also increased the volume of information available. 

“Full planning histories of properties around the District are now easily accessible, as well as comprehensive mapping information and user friendly weekly lists of all the issues outstanding. 

“All of the existing services, such as online viewing of plans and associated documentation, have been retained.”

To view the new Planning Information service, users should take the following steps:

  • Log on to Horsham District Council’s website
  • Click on the ‘Plans’ button on the home page
  • Click on the ‘Public Access’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • Select ‘Application Search’ from the resulting menu options.

Following these steps will take users directly into the comprehensive search functions that will allow then to retrieve the information that they require.  Feedback about any of the applications under current consideration can be made by using the ‘Submit Comments’ button.
