Household refuse and recycling in the early New Year
1st January 2006
BECAUSE of the holiday period, slightly different refuse and recycling collections take place in the Horsham District over Christmas and New Year.
26 DECEMBER 2005 – 3 JANUARY 2006:
- There will be no household collections. They start again on Tuesday 3 January 2006.
3 – 7 JANUARY 2006:
- With a bank holiday falling on Monday 2 January the first week’s collections will be delayed by one day, finishing with Friday’s collection being made on Saturday 7 January.
- Recycling will be cans with plastic bottles and aerosols only.
- There will be no green garden waste collection until week commencing 16 January.
9 JANUARY onwards:
- From Monday 9 January 2006, all collections will have returned to their normal day.
- Recycling will be newspapers with magazines only.
- There will be no green garden waste collection.
- From Monday 16 January 2006, the Zone A green garden waste with non-corrugated card collection cycle will restart.
- Recycling will be cans with plastic bottles and aerosols.
- From Monday 23 January 2006, the Zone B green garden waste with non-corrugated card collection cycle will restart.
- Recycling will be newspapers with magazines.
Christmas trees (real ones only please!) can be chopped up and put in the brown lidded green waste bins for composting along with any Christmas cards.
