Last minute shopping made easy

21st December 2006

SHOPPERS across Sussex and Surrey are being encouraged to make Horsham their first choice destination for last minute Christmas shopping.

Explaining why, Cllr John Cox, Cabinet Member for Economic Development at Horsham District Council, said:

“Horsham is home to many independent and specialist shops as well as a wide range of High Street names.

“Adding to the great selection of possible gift ideas this year are Beales department store with its wealth of brand names including Principles, Episode, Jaeger and Christian Dior. There’s also the newly expanded Steamer Cookshop and the new HMV and Fopp record stores.”

“The town is also quick and easy to get into so you can get your last minute shopping done with the minimum of hassle. With three main car parks right in the town centre, and parking prices of just £1 for up to two hours, shoppers don’t have to walk far to carry their goodies back to their cars.”

“Then for those with a little more time to spend, add in the attraction of the town’s great choice of cafes and eating places and you have the perfect ingredients for a pleasant and relaxed destination of choice for stress free last minute shopping.”

Horsham Town Centres Manager, Garry Mortimer-Cook, was enthusiastic saying:

“Horsham is proving once again to be a popular destination for Christmas shopping with some of our stores already reporting very high sales levels.

“I am sure that for many happy shoppers Horsham will prove to be Time Well Spent right up to and including Christmas Eve Sunday.”
