Horsham MicroBiz speaks for itself!

7th March 2007

HORSHAM MICROBIZ, the annual business event, pioneered by Horsham District Council and aimed at small and home based businesses, is back in Horsham for the fifth time this Saturday (10 March).

It’s taking place at The Drill Hall in Denne Road, Horsham from 10am to 4pm, and is organised by Horsham District Council with sponsorship from Barclays Bank Plc, SEEDA and West Sussex County Council.

Horsham MicroBiz has grown to be immensely popular and this year’s event should be no exception, with 45 exhibitors offering everything a business needs in one place on one day.

The event is FREE to visitors and has an amazing line up of 12 FREE seminars from business experts.

The old favourites are back, with seminars about Tax and National Insurance and starting a business.  New seminars for 2007 include national networking guru Gwen Rhys; renowned Marketing speaker Dee Blick; Vicky Vaughan giving her advice on branding; and Merril DeGroot will give expert advice on managing money.

Booking is recommended to guarantee a place on the seminars. To pre-book the seminars, please call Startup Co on 0845 7827887 or email info@startup.co.uk.

Each year Horsham MicroBiz sees visitors from previous events booking to be an exhibitor the following year:

Paul Waine, Managing Director of Tristar Computing was certainly impressed and said:

“Attending MicroBiz in 2006 as a visitor impressed me with the variety and quality of information available and contacts to be made.

“As a direct result of this, in 2007 my company, Tristar Computing, will be exhibiting for the first time.

“I can strongly recommend MicroBiz to anyone starting or growing a small business.”

Steve Kenward of eskay had a similar positive experience at last year’s Horsham MicroBiz, saying:

"Having established eskay as a business mentoring practice my visit to Microbiz 2006 as a start up company opened my eyes to the support available for local businesses.

“I have now returned as an exhibitor, proud to add the eskay business support package to the range of organisations and products available locally to help Horsham companies prosper."

And then there are visitors who come every year like Dee Blick, Chartered Marketer of The Marketing Gym, who commented:

"As a visitor who has been every year since it launched, how would I describe Horsham MicroBiz?

“Well, amongst many things..... it’s vibrant, informative, helpful and thoroughly enjoyable - a place to learn, to network and be inspired by other business people making it happen!

“That's why I come back each year and why I am especially pleased to be asked to speak there this year."

Liz Francis, Regional Organiser of The Federation of Small Businesses for Surrey and West Sussex has attended all the MicroBiz Fairs in Horsham since the first one which was held in 2002.

She said:

“The event provides a great opportunity for small businesses owners, and those thinking of starting up their own enterprises, to gain useful information and advice, not only from the many exhibitors, but also from the wide range of seminars held throughout the day.

“It’s an excellent way of finding out everything you need to know in one place on one day.”

This Saturday’s event at The Drill Hall, Horsham, runs from 10am till 4pm, with a programme of seminars throughout the day.  Beeches Buffet of Horsham will have a café at MicroBiz all day.

For further information about MicroBiz a downloadable programme and map of how to find the venue is available online.
