T-Ball introduced for 6-7 year olds
12th March 2007
HORSHAM Junior Baseball Club has announced that more young age groups can now play baseball in the Horsham District.
This summer, boys and girls in school years 1 and 2 (aged 6 and 7 years) will have a designated league to play in.
The T-Ball League will run from May to August and is a safe way to introduce children of this age to play the game of baseball.
Explaining what is happening, Robert Burnie, Co-Chairman of Horsham Junior Baseball Club, said:
“Following the successful introduction of a baseball league for children aged 8 to 12 last year, we had a number of parents who had toddlers in this age range wanting to play and get involved.
“This is an ideal situation for kids to enjoy the game and become a part of something in a team environment.
“The game of T-Ball is very basic and the parents will love watching their children have a great time.
“Coaching the game at this level is very easy, and the aim is for the kids to have fun!”
Further information about joining the T-Ball League is available from Paul Taylor at Horsham District Council on 01403 215637 or e-mail paul.taylor@horsham.gov.uk (please reply by 13 April).

With the introduction of the T-Ball League, more coaches are also needed this year.
Horsham Junior Baseball Club will be running a Level 1 baseball coaching course on Saturday 21 April and anyone interested in attending this free course should contact Paul Taylor to book a place (details above).
The game is easy to learn and existing coaches from last year will be able to assist and help new coaches throughout the season.
