Mental health and wellbeing activity day
12th March 2007
CRAWLEY and Horsham Mind Services in partnership with Horsham District Council are organising a Mental Health and Wellbeing Activity Day at the Drill Hall, Horsham, on Tuesday 17 April.
The day is aimed at current mental health service users, people working within the mental health sector, and anybody wanting to know more about mental health and wellbeing.
Those attending will have a chance to ‘taste’ a range of activities that can have a positive effect on mental as well as general wellbeing, including art, music and sport.
It is hoped that people attending will find they enjoy a new activity. There will also be advice and information available to explain how they might go on to access these activities to further develop their interest.
The day also provides a platform for mental health service providers to promote their organisations and services; it will act as a ‘drop in’ for those wishing to find out more about local mental health provision; and it will provide a chance for Crawley and Horsham Mind Services to assess demand for their services.
Crawley and Horsham Mind Services is part of Mind in Brighton and Hove, a Local Mind Association, supporting anyone living in the Crawley, Horsham and Chanctonbury area who experiences mental distress and those who care for them.
It is a charity completely independent of any other organisation, including NHS services, and one of its main aims is to promote mental wellbeing in order to help reduce the incidence of mental distress.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Day is free to enter and will be held at the Drill Hall, Horsham, Denne Road, on Tuesday 17 April 10:30am – 2:30pm. Anybody wishing to know more about the day, or Crawley and Horsham Mind Services, please contact Steve Byhurst on 01403 750166 or e-mail steve.byhurst@mindcharity.co.uk.
