Try a dolce vita in Horsham this Easter
Horsham Piazza Italia
Horsham in West Sussex is turning Italian this Easter Friday and Saturday, 6 and 7 April.
For the first time ever, Horsham, which was recently acclaimed as the second best place to live in the country will be offering a significant slice of Italian life to shoppers and visitors alike.
The very centre of the charming historic market town, the Carfax, will be the focus of activities and will be alive with a family Easter celebration full of fun with an Italian flavour.
Nothing says Italy more than fine food and wine and people visiting Horsham over Easter will be able to buy specially imported wines, meats, cheeses and delicatessen foods from a special Italian fresh produce market against a programme of Italian music and entertainment.
Many of the town's proud Italian restaurants and cafes and other businesses that have an Italian connection are coming together to offer special menus, tastings and promotions. Details of competitions to win everything from meals and food hampers to fashion jewellery will be available shortly.
For car lovers young and old, a parade of Sussex owned Ferraris will start from Foundry Court and enter the town via North Street just before 2pm with up to 10 different cars being promised on each day. These will then be on display in Market Square, whilst the latest Alfa Romeos will be attracting interest in Piries Place. Horsham Museum in the historic Causeway will be tracing Horsham's Italian links from the Romans to the poet Shelley with a fascinating exhibition called 'The Italian Connection'.
The events will be preceded by a Good Friday gathering by Horsham Churches Together, starting at 11am in the Carfax.
There will also be free parking in Horsham town centre all day on Friday 6 April.
'Horsham Piazza Italia' is organised by Horsham District Council. For further details telephone 01403 215386 or pick up a full programme from Leisure venues across the Horsham District.
