More SNAP dances
23rd March 2007
THE second SNAP Dance Night of the year takes place on Friday 30 March in Horsham.
The SNAP dance night for the under 17s will take place between 7.30pm and 10.30pm and will be held at the town’s Drill Hall in Denne Road.
The occasion will include resident DJ Matt spinning the tunes in this alcohol and drug free night. There will also be more competitions with chances to win great prizes and everyone attending can have their mobile ‘phones security marked for free.
As the SNAP dance nights are soon to see a makeover, dance goers will also have a chance to say how they would like the sessions to look like in the future.
Membership of the SNAP costs just £1 per year, and tickets to each event cost £5 (or £2.50 with a Leisure Access Card) per event.
SNAP stands for ‘Say No and ‘Phone’ and is organised by Horsham District Council in partnership with Sussex Police and West Sussex Youth Service.
All SNAP dance nights are drug, alcohol and tobacco free events; everyone attending is searched on the door by professional security staff.
The dance nights are part of the local community safety strategy and aim to give 13-17 year olds something to do as well as promoting awareness of the Crimestoppers telephone number and various health education messages
More SNAP nights are booked in for 2007 with the next new look one being on May 18.
Tickets can be purchased now from The Pavilions In The Park, Horsham or the Capitol Box Office on North Street, Horsham on 01403 750220, alternatively there will be a limited amount to buy on the door.
