Public Views Sought on Children's Play Opportunities in the Horsham District
17th April 2007
Horsham District Council, in partnership with West Sussex County Council and other key play space providers, has developed a Draft Play Strategy and Action Plan which focuses on improving children’s and young people’s play opportunities throughout the Horsham District. Funding is being sought from the Big Lottery Fund grant of £213,000 towards helping to achieve these objectives. The Council is now seeking public opinion on the Strategy and Action Plan.
Following initial consultation a Strategy and Action Plan has been developed, to include: Provision of a mobile youth sport/play package for use around the District, provision of information on where to play, establishing an open access ball court in Southwater, review and improvement of play value in existing play areas, installation of two open access bike tracks in the Horsham Area and providing more challenging play equipment (for older children) at identified sites around the District.
The Draft Play Strategy and Action Plan will be available for comment from now until Friday 9 July 2007.
