Horsham District local election results
4th May 2007
AT THE local elections on 3 May 2007, the Conservatives have retained control of Horsham District Council.
The results of the Horsham District Council local elections held on 3 May 2007 are as follows:
- Conservatives – 31 District Councillors
- Liberal Democrats - 11 District Councillors
- Independents - 2 District Councillors
Total 44 District Councillors
All 44 seats at Horsham District Council were contested.
There are estimated to be 98,800 people who are eligible to vote in the Horsham District and the last District Council elections were on 1 May 2003.
On election day (3 May 2007), there were 67 polling stations in the Horsham District which were open all day from 7am -10pm.
In terms of candidates, 110 candidates were nominated to stand in the 22 wards for the District Council elections.

On 3 May 2007, all 32 parish councils in the Horsham District have also been up for re-election.
A total of 333 candidates are standing for the parish council elections. There are seven contested parish councils or parish wards.
The count for both elections has been taking place at Horsham’s Drill Hall in Denne Road and the results of the parish council results should be available by 1pm on Friday 4 May.
The results of both elections will be posted at Horsham District Council’s offices at Park North, North Street, Horsham. The Parish results will also be available online
