Horsham gets Jammin' at Skate Park

19th June 2007

Jam in the Park returns to Horsham’s Skate Park for its third year.  Horsham District Council is once again teaming up with leading clothes store Little Sky in West Street and Horsham Street Sports Association to produce what’s expected to be an amazing event.

The event is a shining example of how public and private sector collaboration and community involvement can result in events and activities that showcase everything good about Horsham's youth.

Jam in the Park is Horsham’s annual BMX, skateboard and in-line event where skate park users both young and old can showcase their talents in a friendly competition.

The event grows year on year and many entrants are expected to participate again this year.  Everyone is welcome to come along to watch and give their support.

Many big-name companies such as O’Neill, Roxy and animal will be providing up to £1,000 worth of prizes, up for grabs to participants.

Jam in the Park is part of PARKFEST (organised by Horsham District Council in association with the Rotary Club of Horsham and the West Sussex County Times).

The event is a huge extravaganza taking over the majority of Horsham Park and will include a roadshow, fairground, inflatables, stilt-walking characters, local groups showcasing activities and the County Times Motor Show, which starts on Saturday 30 June.

The highlight of the event is The London Chinese Acrobats, who have performed all over the world.  They will be performing traditional lion dance, the beautiful and colourful ribbon dance and amazing martial arts and acrobatics.

Pre-registration for Jam in the Park is essential because of limited spaces in some of the categories.  The Jam is about raising money for the skate park so entrants are encouraged to generate sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues.

Anyone wishing to enter can pick up a registration and sponsorship form in store at Little Sky on West Street, Horsham or visit www.littlesky.co.uk
