Walk your way to fitness
25th June 2007
THE NEW July to September 2007 ‘Health Walks’ programme has been published by Horsham District Council and promises a huge variety of walks for everyone.
There are over a 130 different walks around the Horsham District at three different levels, varying lengths and landscapes.
Participants can choose from Nordic Walking, evening walks, town or country, or joining together with the Crawley Health Walks scheme.
Some walks have also been organised especially to share with walkers the wonders of Horsham in Bloom in Horsham and Warnham Nature Reserve.
Health Walks Coordinator at Horsham District Council Jill Shuker said:
“Not only is the scheme beneficial to health, it also gives an opportunity to meet new people and see more of the beautiful surroundings that we sometimes take for granted.
”Health Walks are for everyone; they are free, local and incredibly varied.
“There’s no excuse not to join in!”
August sees the return of the Annual Health Walks Festival, which this year runs from 11 to 27 August and features family walks in Itchingfield, more Nordic Walking and even a Mobility Ramble to celebrate the Horsham Shopmobility Scheme’s tenth anniversary!
The new July – September Health Walks schedule is available at information points and leisure facilities across the Horsham District and from Horsham District Council. It can also be found online.
