Fine and criminal record for fly tipping

A PERSON has been fined £1000 plus costs for illegal fly tipping in a field in Upper Beeding.

Mr Paul G. Williams, trading as Complete Tree Services of Pease Pottage, had not responded to the charges and was absent from court on 23 July.

In his absence he was fined £1000 plus legal costs of £694, to be paid in 14 days.

This also resulted in Mr Williams obtaining a criminal record.

The prosecution was made possible by a member of the public who reported the fly tipping incident to Horsham District Council.
