Health Walks Festival 11-27 August

THIS weekend sees the launch of the Horsham District Health Walks Festival which this year runs from the 11 to 27 August and promises something for every level of walker.
The event runs for 17 days and features family walks in Itchingfield, a Mobility Ramble to celebrate Shopmobility’s 10th Anniversary and even Nordic Walking taster sessions.
Jill Shuker, Horsham District Council’s Health Walks Co-ordinator, said:
“The festival is an ideal way to find out about the full programme that operates throughout the year, and the summer months are a wonderful opportunity to get out and see more of the Horsham District and enjoy the green spaces we have around us.
“We have a wide range of events on offer this year which are both enjoyable and beneficial to health.
“This includes some taster sessions of Nordic Walking, which can ease tension in the neck and shoulders, and even reduce the risk of osteoporosis.”
The new July – September Health Walks schedule is available at information points and leisure facilities across the District and from Horsham District Council or online.
