Koopa is special guest at next Flip'd dance night
6th September 2007
THE FIRST Flip’d dance night of the autumn takes place on Friday 21 September.
The Flip’d alcohol and drug free night dance night for 13-17 year olds will take place between 7.30pm and 10.30pm and will be held at the Drill Hall, Denne Road Horsham.
The occasion will feature special guest Koopa, a band which made history earlier this year by reaching the Top 40 charts through downloaded files alone.
There will also be competitions with chances to win great prizes and everyone attending can have their mobile phone security marked for free.
Flip'd represents a giant leap forward from the old SNAP dance concept by retaining the strong anti-drug, anti-smoke and no alcohol ethos but putting much stronger emphasis on cutting edge live performers.
All young people will be searched on entry to the event by professional security staff.
The dance nights are part of the Horsham District’s community safety strategy and aim to give 13-17 year olds something to do as well as promoting awareness of the Crimestoppers telephone number and various health education messages.
Flip’d is organised by Horsham District Council in partnership with West Sussex Youth Service and Sussex Police.
Tickets cost £5 (£2.50 Leisure Access Card) and are very limited so early booking is strongly advised.
They are available for 13-17 year olds (Year 8 and above) only from venues in Horsham including the Pavilions in the Park leisure complex and The Capitol box office 01403 750220 as well as Forest Youth Wing.
