Results of the South & South East in Bloom regional competition
6th September 2007
HORSHAM was declared overall winner of the South and South East regional in Bloom competition on Wednesday 5 September.
At the awards ceremony which was held in Crawley on 5 September, Horsham was declared winner of the Large Town/Small City class with a gold standard Award.
Gold standard awards are not given lightly, they are the crème de la crème that represents excellence - therefore there is every reason to feel exceptionally proud of Horsham’s achievement.
This result is only possible thanks to the whole community working together as a single unit, in an atmosphere that reflects the high esteem and pride which Horsham residents and Horsham businesses have for their local surroundings.
It is the perfect result to set the scene for the Britain in Bloom final, the results of which will be announced on 26 September in Coventry Cathedral. Horsham is hoping for great things, all fingers crossed!
Horsham people can all hold their heads high, this regional result should stimulate everyone who has an interest in the town to join the Horsham in Bloom Committee in promoting Horsham as one of the finest places in the South East, in Britain - and beyond
Let’s face it, Horsham is a Famous Floral Town, so many successes and people will want to come here on the strength of that! It’s up to all of us locally to provide the warmest of welcomes and to keep standards high.
The Horsham in Bloom Committee is grateful to all of its energetic voluntary supporters, to local gardeners, to its business and Council partners and to the ‘in Bloom’ competitors who set such high standards that spread positive messages far and wide.
