West of Horsham Masterplan - Draft Supplementary Planning Document - consultation period 24 Sept to 5 Nov 2007

RESIDENTS and interested parties are being invited to take part in the ongoing consultation about the future of land west of Horsham and south of Broadbridge Heath up to 2018.
Two thousand new homes, including affordable homes for local people, new road infrastructure and community facilities are discussed in a draft masterplan for the development of land west of Horsham.
A new and expanded primary school is proposed in the area along with new community buildings, youth facilities, sports pitches and open space, a 5 doctor medical facility, allotments and new community fire station are also proposed along with some employment land.
The work forms the latest stage in the Horsham District Local Development Framework – the planning blueprint for the Horsham District up to 2018.
Two masterplan approaches are being consulted on and the document also sets out the alternative options that have been considered in arriving at the Preferred Approach.
The consultation period for the West of Horsham Masterplan Draft Supplementary Planning Document runs from Monday 24 September until 5 November and is the last chance for comments to be received before Horsham District Council finalises its plans for the area up to 2018.
Copies of the document can be seen or purchased at the District Council offices in Horsham, as well as being available for inspection at Horsham, Southwater and Storrington libaries.
The Council’s website at also contains a wealth of information about planning for the future of the Horsham District.
A number of exhibitions are being held to provide an opportunity for anyone who wishes to discuss any aspect of the draft Masterplan with Council officers. Officers are also available to answer any questions on the proposals on 01403 215398 or by email at strategic.planning@horsham.gov.uk.

There will also be an unstaffed exhibition at Horsham Library from 15 -26 October 2007.
