Autumn Health Walks – fit a walk into your week

1st October 2007

A VARIETY of free to attend walks for all level of walkers is promised in the new October to December 2007 ‘Health Walks’ programme published by Horsham District Council.

For those who like a challenge there are ‘Geoffrey’s ten mile Winter Walks’ as well as walks culminating in a special Christmas lunch in Storrington or mulled wine in Steyning.

The autumn countryside can be fully appreciated throughout the Horsham District as there are over a 130 different walks at three different levels, varying lengths and landscapes.

Jill Shuker, Health Walks Co-ordinator for Horsham District Council, said:

“The colder weather and darker evenings don’t do much to encourage us to get out and about.

“So why not take advantage of all the hard work our volunteer walk leaders have put in and join one of their wonderful variety of walks this autumn?

“It is very sociable and can make all the difference to your day.

“Don’t let the grass grow under your feet, fit a walk into your week!”
The new October to December Health Walks schedule is available at information points and leisure facilities across the Horsham District and from Horsham District Council. It can also be found online.
