THE RESULTS of the District ward of Holbrook West by-election have been announced.
Liberal Democrat candidate Belinda Walters was elected as a new representative of Holbrook West yesterday (11 October) after receiving 43.9 percent of the total vote.
Total votes cast were 1372, which means that the percentage turnout for Holbrook West ward was 32.2 percent. New Councillor Belinda Walters received 602 votes.
Conservative Party candidate Ronald Vimpany received 554 votes (40.31 percent), Donna Bailey of the British National Party received 163 (11.88 percent) and Labour Party candidate Raymond Chapman received 52 (3.79 percent) votes.
The vacancy follows the resignation of Cllr Roger Edworthy (Conservative Party).
