Preferred location for new neighbourhood West of Crawley identified

RESIDENTS of the Horsham District and Crawley and interested parties are being invited to take part in the next stage of the consultation on a new neighbourhood to the West and North West of Crawley.
The adopted West Sussex Structure Plan has identified the western side of Crawley as the location for up to 2500 homes.
The area is largely within Horsham District, but borders Crawley Borough. Both councils are working together to produce a Joint Area Action Plan (JAAP) to steer the location and masterplanning of the development.
The two councils have produced the Preferred Options Joint Area Action Plan (JAAP), which follows consultation on the Issues and Options JAAP in September 2006.
The Preferred Options JAAP identifies West of Bewbush as the preferred location for the new neighbourhood and outlines the approach to providing facilities, services, jobs and infrastructure to support the new development. The Preferred Options JAAP also sets out the alternatives considered in arriving at the preferred option.

The Preferred Options JAAP and accompanying documentation can also be inspected at Crawley Town Hall, Crawley Library, Broadfield Library, Horsham District Council’s Planning Reception, Park North, Horsham Help Point and Horsham Library, during normal office hours.
The consultation period starts on October 19 and ends on November 30, 2007.
During the consultation period, the councils will hold a series of exhibitions to give people the opportunity to discuss the JAAP with council officers. These will be held on:

| Wednesday, November 7 | Langley Green Community Centre – 10am until 2pm |

| Saturday, November 10 | Bewbush Community Centre – 10am until 4pm |
