In court for benefit fraud

The Court asked for the sentences to be reviewed and this took place at Horsham Magistrates' Court on 19 November 2007.
Liam Wildish and Carol Wildish both appeared for re-sentencing and were each ordered to do 240 hours unpaid work and to pay £250 costs. The four months suspended prison sentence was quashed.
A COUPLE from Pound Close in Billingshurst have been in court for receiving more than £14,000 in housing benefit they were not entitled to.
Liam John Wildish and Carol Wildish appeared this morning (12 October 2007) before Haywards Heath Magistrates' Court for sentencing.
They had pleaded guilty of claiming housing benefit from Horsham District Council to which they were not entitled.
The amount of overpaid benefit is in excess of £14,000 and the fraudulent claims had spanned more than five years.
They were each given a prison sentence of four months, suspended for two years, and ordered to do 200 hours community work. Costs of £500 are also payable.
