Dance into the New Year

DANCE projects for all ages and abilities are being organised for people in the Horsham District.
In September last year Horsham District Council launched its first ever break dancing course which proved a great success and this year it’s back with a bang.
The new ten week break dance course returns on Thursday 31 January from 7pm at The Drill Hall, Denne Road, Horsham, and is for anyone over the age of 15. No experience is necessary – only enthusiasm to learn new skills! The cost of the course will be £60.
And there are more dance opportunities coming up.
For adults, a dance taster workshop for beginners will be held at 6-8pm on Thursday 24 January at Horsham’s Drill Hall. The workshop is a chance for anyone over 16 to explore contemporary technique and creative dance in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The cost will be £6.
Horsham District Council is also pleased to welcome the University of Chichester’s third year dance company ‘3Fall’, which will be bringing its spring tour to The Capitol, North Street, Horsham, on 13 February at 7.30pm. The third year dance students will deliver an eclectic mix of contemporary works by professional dancers and dance choreography students. Tickets cost £6.
Finally, a one day dance extravaganza called Dance Mania will be held in the February half term which will give 8 – 16 year olds the chance to explore a variety of different dance styles, including theatrical dance, street dance, salsa and ‘lindy hop’ (a partner dance of the 1920s Big Band jazz era). The course will cost £15.
