Agenda for older people
27 February 2008
PUBLIC conveniences, services for older people and nutrition workshops are just some of the items on the latest Senior Persons’ Council agenda.
The Senior Persons’ Council was established two years ago with the aim of giving older people in the Horsham District an opportunity to put forward their ideas to the District Council and to undertake their own initiatives to benefit the local community.
The Senior Persons’ Council empowers its members to identify issues of concern and take action to address them and is also a useful way for Horsham District Council to consult with local older people.
People from Horsham District Age Concern, the Pension Service, the Community Link alarm scheme and Horsham District Council also attend the meetings and are available as a point of contact.
Any resident of the Horsham District over 50 is welcome to attend a meeting.
The dates and venues of the next meetings are as follows.
All meetings start at 12 noon and are scheduled to finish by 2.30 pm.
- Monday 10 March 2008, Billingshurst Village Hall, Roman Way, Billingshurst
- Monday 9 June 2008, Sullington Parish Hall, Thakeham Road, Sullington
- Monday 8 September 2008, Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft, Steyning
- Monday 8 December 2008, Beeson House, Lintot Square, Southwater
