The Final Countdown for Horsham's Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 16 March

3 March 2008

The countdown to the Horsham Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has begun, with less than two weeks to go before local residents go the distance for Sport Relief on Sunday 16 March.

Horsham Milers will be pulling on their special Sport Relief socks before making their way along the route around Horsham Park from 11am onwards.   Milers can choose to do 1, 3 or 6 miles and staff from The Pavilions In the Park will be on hand all morning offering warm-up routines for all participants before they run.  A musical roadshow will be entertaining both the runners and the audience throughout the morning, whilst giant inflatables and a bungee trampoline will be available for people to enjoy while they are waiting for their friends and family to complete the course.

Sign up now at www.sportrelief.com and join over 550 runners already registered - but hurry as places are running out fast!

Cllr Brian Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Health at Horsham District Council said: “As the countdown to the big day begins we’re looking forward to seeing hundreds of local residents going the distance and getting sponsored for Sport Relief.  The 16 March really should be a day to remember as Horsham pulls together for this fantastic cause.”

Sport Relief harnesses the power and passion of sport to change lives for the better. By doing sport, having fun and raising money, everyone can do good and feel good.
