Steyning Camera Club Exhibition at Horsham Museum
17 March 2008
Steyning Camera Club was formed in 1972, and has proved itself to be one of the most forward thinking and lively camera clubs in the south of England. Horsham Museum is pleased to be able to stage an exhibition of members’ work, which promises to be a treat for photographers and everyone more generally interested in fine photography.
For the exhibition, Club members have produced an eye-catching range of images, from striking wildlife and landscape scenes to more punchy action shots of people. The photographs demonstrate the Club’s philosophy, which is, first and foremost, to enjoy photography. For that reason the Club is friendly, open and welcoming to photographers of all interests and abilities from complete beginners to seasoned enthusiasts. Members have a considerable range of subject interests, and are working with colour and black and white film, slide transparencies and digital imaging, both from digital cameras and scanned film.
Steyning Camera Clubs hopes that the exhibition will inspire others to take up their cameras, and they run a very popular "Coffee Club" on Tuesday mornings throughout the year, with a view to offering practical learning from more experienced photographers, and to enjoy coffee, of course.
The exhibition of photographs from Steyning Camera Club opens on Thursday 13th March and closes on Saturday 10th May 2008.
