Free online searches for funding

28 April 2008

COMMUNITY groups and small businesses in the Horsham District are now able to perform free funding searches from the District Council’s website.

Horsham District Council has joined forces with GRANTnet to provide a straightforward free service to help users identify suitable funding for their activity or project from a huge range of funding sources, and it can now be accessed from www.horsham.gov.uk

Previously, the Council’s Grants and Funding Officer would perform the initial search and send it to interested groups before providing follow up advice and assistance.

Now, groups can do their own searches and choose whether the Funding Officer can be of further assistance.

Groups simply register their details in order to obtain a user name and password. They can then log in and complete a few basic questions about their project and GRANTnet will provide an overview of potential funding sources.

As well as providing the information on sources of funding, GRANTnet also channels search results back to the Council’s Grants and Funding Officer who can then assess the likelihood of a successful application and help provide advice and assistance if required.

Howard Collins, Horsham District Council’s Grants and Funding Officer, said:

“I believe this new tool will enable the district’s community groups to search more accurately for appropriate funding, while still retaining the option of coming to me for further advice at any point in the process.”

For further information, guidance on using GrantNet or any funding issues, please contact Howard Collins on 01403 215358 or howard.collins@horsham.gov.uk
