Horsham's first audio walking tour launched

Horsham’s first audio walking tour can now be downloaded to play on your phone or MP3 player from www.visithorsham.co.uk
The tour has been recorded to add further enjoyment to people’s experience of Horsham either online, before they visit, or while exploring the town’s compact and easy to get around centre .
Many aspects of Horsham’s fascinating past remain unknown to many and this audio tour gives people a new way of accessing information that can add to their appreciation of what you can see in the town today.
This ‘pilot’ tour features Horsham Museum Curator, Jeremy Knight giving colourful insights into five of the historic market town’s key landmarks and feedback depending, further guides may be recorded and made available in different formats to meet demand.
The individual stages of this first tour featuring Carfax, Shelley Fountain, The Forum, The Causeway and Market Square can also be streamed from www.virtualhorsham.co.uk
Horsham is a medieval market town that offers the best of both worlds with a rich history, architectural heritage, outstanding parkland and beautiful countryside. The other side of Horsham’s coin is its stunning town centre with pavement cafés, Britain in Bloom winning floral displays, markets and a superb blend of specialist shops and famous names.
This is the latest in a series of initiatives developed by the Horsham District Council’s Town Centres Management and its partners, designed to actively reinforce the towns’ marketing message as The Horsham Experience – Time Well Spent.
Horsham Town Centres Manager, Garry Mortimer-Cook said,
“We would appreciate feedback on this audio tour so we can what demand there is to develop further guides to meet people’s needs and interests in the future.”
